The 2018 market
Having been awarded an initial contract, the bluedrop.fr team handled the UX and UI design, development, integration, SEO optimization, as well as the hosting and Application Maintenance of the saemes.fr website.
Scope of the initial contract:
- UX and UI design;
- Development with Drupal 8;
- Content migration;
- Website hosting and maintenance.
New contract in 2022
Following an external audit that did not call into question the maintainability of the technical foundation, Saemes wanted to continue optimizing UX and UI to improve user journeys. The improvement project, assigned to the bluedrop.fr agency team, focused on mobile journeys, mapping, and the booking process.
UX Issues
Areas for improvement:
- Mobile experience;
- Optimization of entry pages (homepage, parking, search);
- Improvement of search, especially geolocated search;
- Optimization of the booking/subscription process.
Drupal and the focus on performance
The purpose of the site redesign, focused on optimizing user journeys for conversion and increasing mobile traffic, required extensive work to improve the platform's display performance. The technical team took care to:
Interactive Drupal / Mapbox map and behaviors
The geolocated search (interactive map) has been completely redeveloped. The use of Google Map has been abandoned and replaced by MapBox services, which allow styling of Open Street Map maps with customizable tiles.
The frontend experience has been developed tailor-made in Javascript. The result lives up to the users’ initial expectations.
