Elior Group, leader in contract catering
Founded in 1991, Elior Group is one of the world leaders in contract catering and related services. Present in nine countries, it is a reference in the business, education, and healthcare sectors. Their goal: to offer healthy, tasty, and responsible food.
A Drupal site factory to streamline the management of the group's websites
Elior Group has a large number of Drupal sites: group site, country sites, subsidiary sites, editorial sites… To simplify the management of its sites, the company chose a site factory powered by the Drupal CMS and its management console Aegir. This architecture makes it possible to easily, quickly, and independently create, delete, and duplicate sites by using preconfigured and customizable installation profiles (site templates).
Since 2019, we have been assisting Elior Group with the maintenance and development of all the sites in its Drupal 9 site factory. The upgrade to Drupal 10 is currently being tested.
We have completed the four installation profiles for his factory at the sites
During previous collaborations with Elior Group, we designed and developed the various site factory installation profiles:
- For the corporate site of the group: https://www.eliorgroup.com.
- For the group’s brand sites (characterized by horizontal navigation): https://www.elior-services.fr, https://www.ansamble.fr or https://www.alsaciennederestauration.fr.
- For Elior country sites (characterized by a side menu): https://www.elior.fr, https://elior.co.uk, etc. Profile currently being migrated to the Indian site model https://www.elior.in.
- For various editorial sites (blog): https://mag.elior-services.fr, https://vidasaludable.serunion.es, etc.
As part of this partnership, Elior Group asked us to design and develop a new site for their Arpège Paris brand. The objective: to create a site that reflects the brand’s identity and meets the specific requirements of the group’s brand installation profile (with a horizontal menu).
Arpège Paris, a higher-end dining offering
Arpège Restaurant is a brand of Elior Group with a positioning that aims to be more upscale. It offers a diverse range of dining options: food court, fast food, corporate clubs, events... In this context, the website must allow for:
- Reinforcing the “premium” positioning.
- Creating desire.
- Informing and promoting the new offering.
Our mission
- Define the site's artistic direction.
- Create mockups of the site's interfaces.
- Create a design system.
- Develop and implement the mockups on the Aegir platform of the site factory.
Art direction, a reflection of the brand’s DNA
The artistic direction we proposed is based on:
- The slash in the logo: we made it our graphic signature. We used it at the corners of images, on buttons, as a motif, etc. A choice that creates coherence and is anchored in the brand’s DNA.
- The quality of the images: they convey a sense of excellence and culinary quality, thus reinforcing the positioning.
- The sobriety of the colors (black, taupe, white): these are typically found in the codes of luxury and elegance.
- The white borders around the site: to turn cuisine into a canvas, a work of art.
Graphic design of the site: integrate the constraints of the installation profile
During the graphic design (UI design) stage, our designers worked based on the paragraphs provided by the installation profile. Keeping the same structure, they customized them in line with the chosen artistic direction: button styles, shapes, colors, images...
This represented a significant saving of time and energy for the client/the Elior Group project team since the developers’ work was then limited to front-end tasks (graphic modifications and not back-office). This is one of the great advantages of installation profiles: they provide a replicable framework from one site to another while still allowing for significant graphic customization options.
It is also interesting to note that the same paragraph can fully blend into the graphic world of its site simply by customizing it. For example, here is a paragraph as configured in the installation profile and how it was reused and customized for the Aprège Paris website.
A Drupal Talentsoft module
As part of its recruitment process, Elior Group uses an ATS (applicant tracking system), which is a candidate tracking tool. More specifically, it uses the solution offered by Cegid Talentsoft (formerly Talentsoft), a very well-known HR software.
As part of the project to redesign Elior Group’s corporate website, we developed a Drupal module connected to the Talentsoft API. The goal: to integrate the application process into the various group websites powered by the Drupal site factory. The integration therefore had to be multi-site, multi-brand, and multilingual. This work made it possible to offer optimized and more efficient application journeys and interfaces than those natively provided by the Talentsoft ATS.
