The Grand Est Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been working with the bluedrop.fr team since 2018. It entrusted them with the redesign of the opportunet.net website, a platform for business transfer and acquisition listings in the Grand Est region.

The context
Opportunet.net is the website of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) for the Grand Est region dedicated to business transfers and sales. Formerly powered by Drupal 7, we redesigned the site using Drupal 9.
Scope of the redesign
- UX design;
- UI design;
- Technical development of the platform with Drupal 9;
- Frontend theming through a custom atomic blank theme with Storybook;
- Development of connectors for publishing listings and retrieving registered users' data;
- Migration of content, including all existing listings;
- SEO and performance optimization;
- Deployment and maintenance.
UX approach and interfaces
- Definition of proto-personas;
- Design of the main user journeys;
- Design studio for the wireframes of all site prototypes;
- User testing, including the implementation of feedback.
UI Design
The UI team, required to keep the logo while modernizing it, chose to completely redesign the UI guidelines while taking into account the efficiency required for the platform. The use of impactful iconography aims to make the platform easily identifiable, in the absence of a strong-impact brand.
Functional architecture
Technical architecture
The site is powered by a classic monolithic Drupal 9 instance. The theme uses Emulsify, which makes it possible to use components from Storybook and Webpack. Additionally, we developed 11 custom modules to meet specific functional needs (statistics, export of listings, saving a search to favorites, or importing favorites from the previous site). The site is connected to the GRC Grand Est (user accounts), to ads published by the BPI (https://reprise-entreprise.bpifrance.fr), and to the calendar of the regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Performance and eco-design
Special attention was paid to the site's display performance, in addition to Drupal's internal caching policy. We did not need to configure varnish, as the results met the project's requirements, although we are still actively monitoring performance.
