The UX benchmark
The UX benchmark allows you to compare your site with those of your competitors to ultimately improve your user experience.
Be inspired by best practices
The UX benchmark (from the English user experience) involves analyzing and comparing the user experience of your competitors in order to improve that of your own web project (website, app, business software, etc.). More specifically, benchmarking allows you to:
- Identify your competitors' best practices
- Learn from their mistakes
- Better position yourself in the market
3 types of benchmarks
We use three types of UX benchmarks: panoramic, quick, and analytical. Each provides a different perspective on your user experience, helping us identify opportunities for improvement and highlight your competitive advantages:
It involves conducting a global, high-level assessment of the user experience of a product or service compared to competitors or industry benchmarks. It provides an overview of where your product stands in relation to other players in the market. The panoramic benchmark is useful for identifying areas where your product may have gaps or competitive advantages.
The quick benchmark is a rapid and succinct assessment of the user experience, focused on specific criteria or key aspects. It can be carried out quickly to identify major issues or opportunities for improvement. It is an effective method for obtaining initial insights into the user experience without committing significant resources.
The analytical benchmark is a more detailed and in-depth approach to the user experience. It involves more comprehensive data collection and analysis, such as surveys, user testing, performance metrics, etc. This allows for a deep understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of your product or service compared to other benchmarks, as well as to formulate specific recommendations for improvement.

When to conduct a UX audit
A UX audit can be conducted at any time, but it is generally recommended in the following cases:
- When launching a new website: a UX audit can help you identify areas for improvement before your website goes live.
- When redesigning a website: a UX audit can help you identify the strengths and weaknesses of the old website and offer recommendations for the new version.
- When you notice a decrease in user satisfaction: a UX audit can help you identify the causes of this decline and suggest solutions to improve it.
- When you want to improve your website's conversion rate or bounce rate: a UX audit can help you identify obstacles that prevent users from achieving their goals on your website.
In general, it is recommended to conduct a UX audit every 2 to 3 years to ensure that your website still meets the needs of your users.
